Trial & Free Credits
When you start Leadscraper for the first time, you get 50 free credits — via your trial link (my.leadscraper.de/register?offer=50credits-trial). They're enough to try Leadscraper out properly before committing to a paid plan. This article explains what the credits mean exactly, how to use them wisely, and what to watch for during the trial so you get a fair impression of the quality.
What is a credit?
The math is deliberately simple: 1 credit = 1 lead.
Leadscraper delivers up to 10 leads per search — we call one search run a "run". A full run therefore costs you up to 10 credits. With 50 trial credits you can run up to 5 complete searches.
Important: a credit is only deducted when a lead is actually delivered to you. So you only pay for results the system has actively checked and found to be a match — not for the search itself, not for discarded candidates.
Why there's a trial period at all
Leadscraper isn't a ready-made database export where you download a list at the press of a button. The system thinks first, searches next, and evaluates every single result at the end:
- Planning — For every request, Leadscraper builds its own search strategy: which industry directories, which association and chamber registers, which web searches fit your target audience? You watch this reasoning live in the activity stream ("Goal", "Strategy", "Reasoning", "⭐ Curated Source").
- Search — Leadscraper searches the open web, German industry directories, association member lists, and supplements company data directly from websites (legal notice, About Us, contact).
- Evaluation — Every found candidate is checked individually against your request and only delivered if it truly fits.
That's exactly why a trial period makes sense: you should see not just that leads arrive, but how well they fit your business — and how the system improves with your feedback.
How to get the maximum out of your credits
A single search run isn't enough to fairly evaluate Leadscraper. The biggest lever isn't in the first run — it's in training. Leadscraper learns from your ratings — and that's what makes the difference between "pretty decent" and "exactly my target audience".
1. Start broad
Begin with a clearly phrased but not too narrow request — for example, company type, region, and desired contact ("folding carton manufacturers NRW, purchaser"). If your request is too broad (e.g., "IT service providers Germany"), you'll get a suggestion before starting on how to sharpen it.
2. Rate every lead
After each run, you see your leads. Accepting is implicit — moving a lead further through the pipeline signals it fits. Reject non-matching leads with "Not a fit" and choose a structured reason (e.g. wrong industry, wrong role, wrong region, wrong size, not an operating company, no buying signal, already known, poor data). You can optionally add a free comment.
This rejection reason is gold: from it, Leadscraper recognizes what you don't want and adjusts the next search accordingly. Ratings can be reset at any time.
3. Repeat and watch it improve
Leadscraper gets more precise with every rating. The typical pattern: the first run is solid, the second run is already notably more targeted, and from the third run onward it starts feeling like the system really knows your business.
How the trial works
The onboarding flow: create your account → pick a plan → start the 3-day trial. You add a payment method (card or SEPA via Stripe), but €0 is charged today. Your subscription starts on day 3 — you can cancel any time, including immediately with one click.
Every plan includes the 3-day trial with 50 credits.
What happens after the trial
When the trial ends, your account transitions to your chosen paid plan. Your rated leads and everything you've trained stay intact — there's no reset. The investment you made in training during the trial continues to pay off from day one of your paid plan.
If you decide Leadscraper isn't for you, you can cancel within the 3 days and nothing is charged.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get more trial credits?
No. The trial includes 50 credits — enough for 5 full search runs. That's enough to test meaningfully and see real results.
Do my trial credits expire?
Trial credits never expire. If you switch to a paid plan, your unused trial credits remain available alongside your monthly allowance.
What happens to my leads after the trial?
Your leads, ratings, and trained audiences stay with you — regardless of whether you continue with a paid plan or not.
