The Assistant: find leads by chat

The Assistant is a chat agent built directly into Leadscraper. Instead of filling in filters and forms, you just describe who you're looking for in plain language — the Assistant builds the target profile, runs the search, shows you the results, finds decision-maker contacts for your leads, and helps you get ready for outreach.

You'll find it in the Assistant tab in the top navigation, right next to Dashboard, Leads, and Audience.

Meet the Assistant

  1. Log in at my.leadscraper.de.
  2. Click the Assistant tab at the top.
  3. Type your request in the message box, or pick one of the suggested starting points.

The Assistant tab with suggested starting points such as "Analyze my website and suggest matching target audiences".

The Assistant answers in whatever language you write in — it's not a fixed account setting. It stays consistent even across mixed-language conversations, keeping your language even when company names or earlier messages were in another language.

Natural-language audience building

Describe your ideal customer in everyday language — e.g. "Find me hair salons in Frankfurt" or "independent bakeries in Stuttgart, no chains".

The Assistant translates this into a structured target-group profile (industry, region, company size, exclusions) and shows you a clear draft for confirmation before anything is created. Nothing costs credits at this step.

The Assistant turns a free-text request into a structured audience profile and asks for confirmation before creating it.

No surprise duplicates: before creating a new target group, the Assistant checks your existing saved profiles (the find_profiles step in the chat). If a matching one already exists, it offers to reuse it instead of creating a duplicate audience.

Approval-gated search execution

Once your profile is confirmed and created, the Assistant asks for your explicit go-ahead before starting the search — every credit-consuming action requires approval first.

After the profile is created, the Assistant asks whether to start the search before any credits are spent.

If you ask for an audience you already have, the Assistant reuses the existing profile and shows a formal approval card stating the exact cost before anything runs:

The "Approval: Start search" card shows the exact cost (up to 10 credits) with Approve/Decline buttons.

  • The cost is disclosed upfront: up to 10 credits per run.
  • Only companies actually delivered count — filtered-out ones are never charged.
  • Decline simply cancels — nothing is created or charged.

Live search progress

After you approve, a live progress card tracks the search pipeline in real time — Planning → Discovery → Enrichment → Scoring → Delivery — with an honest running count of leads delivered so far.

The "Search running" card shows the Planning, Discovery, Enrichment, Scoring, and Delivery stages with a live counter.

Interactive lead review

Delivered leads appear directly in the conversation as a deck of cards. Rate each one Good fit or Not a fit right in the chat — ratings persist reliably and sharpen future matching, exactly like rating from the Leads tab.

Decision-maker contact discovery (Connect)

For any delivered lead, ask the Assistant to find decision-maker contact details (name, role, email, phone) — e.g. "Find contacts for [Company Name]". Billing is fully transparent and fair:

  • Costs 1 credit, but only if a reachable contact (email or phone) is actually found.
  • If no reachable contact exists, you're charged nothing — the Assistant explicitly confirms this in its reply.
  • Previously-attempted lookups with no results can be safely retried without getting stuck.

Dashboard integration

Every chat-driven search run is fully linked into the standard Dashboard views. The Latest lead queries panel shows run history and lead counts consistently with what you see in the chat and the Leads tab.

The Dashboard's "Latest lead queries" panel shows the same run consistently with the chat history.

Managing chat history

Every conversation is saved in the History panel on the left, so you can pick up any thread later — searches, lead reviews, and ratings all stay linked to their chat. To delete a conversation you no longer need:

  1. Hover over the conversation in the History panel.
  2. Click the trash icon that appears next to its title.
  3. An inline confirmation appears — click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the chat.

Deleting a chat only removes the conversation from your history. Your audiences, delivered leads, ratings, and run history are kept — they remain visible in the Dashboard, Leads, and Audience tabs.

Design principles

  • Transparency first — every cost is disclosed before it's incurred, and every charge (or lack thereof) is explicitly confirmed in plain language.
  • No surprise duplicates — the Assistant actively checks existing data before creating anything new.
  • Consistency across surfaces — chat, Dashboard, and the Leads tab always show the same underlying data and counts.
  • Safe by default — nothing that spends credits happens without an explicit approval step.

FAQ

Does the Assistant replace searching via Audience?
No, both paths run in parallel and use the same underlying data. The Assistant is an additional, conversational way in — use whichever you prefer.

Can the Assistant accidentally spend credits?
No. Every credit-consuming action (starting a search, a contact lookup) needs your explicit approval first, with the cost disclosed.

What language does the Assistant reply in?
Whatever language you write in — independent of your regular app language.

Can my teammates see my chats?
The results (audiences, leads, ratings, run history) are consistently visible team-wide as usual; the chat history itself belongs to your own conversation in the History panel.
